Hours of Operation:

7 days per week


8am to 5pm – Urgent after Hours enquiries diverts to company mobile


Australian dollars (AUD) and are subject to change; a fuel levy may also apply

  • Payment:

    Payment is due at time of booking unless credit accounts have been arranged.

  • Credit Cards:

    Payments made with American Express will incur a 3.8% surcharge. Mastercard and Visa will incur 1.5% surcharge.

Weight Restrictions:

Passenger’s individual weight MUST be advised at time of booking. If a weight variance of more than 10% is determined upon check-in, we reserve the right to charge a 100% cancellation fee.

Ultimate Ride
Due to the comfort of the horses, there is a weight restriction. Maximum weight is 95kg

Child Policy:

As per CASA regulations, children occupying a seat will be charged at adult rates. On application, an infant under 3 years of age may travel free of charge when seated on a guardians lap. A maximum of one infant per helicopter may travel as per CASA regulations. For additional infants please discuss the option with our reservations team.

Minimum and Maximum passenger numbers:

Minimum passenger numbers may apply. Groups larger than 6 passengers may require a private charter. Please discuss this with Reservations department at the time of booking.

FIT Bookings:

Credit Card details are required to confirm the booking

Pay on Board charges:

  • $20 Marine Levy includes EMC $6.50, Port Fees $1.50, Admin $2.00, Fuel Levy $10 – payable direct on the day of travel
  • Other operators charges – $35 Australian Parachute Membership Levy; $10 Bungy Admin and Insurance Levy

Tour Cancellation:

Tours and aircraft substitutions are subject to Management and/or Pilots discretion, weather, air traffic control and availability.


48 hour cancellation notice required for a full refund claim; within 48 hours to 24 hours a 50% refund applies. If cancelled inside 24 hours no refund applies. Should a client advise a weight variance of more than 10% the right is reserved to cancel and no refund will apply. All refunds must be issued at the point of sale.

Landing Permits:

  • Sand Cay:

    All aviation operators are governed by Marine Park permits allocating minimum heights, distances and restrictions. Sand Cay landing may only occur if the Cay is vacant, in the unlikely event that the Cay is occupied, Sand Cay guests will receive additional flying time to a private beach location and no refund shall apply.

    There is an EPA ruling that prevents us (or any other Helicopter company) from landing on the sand cay if it is already occupied. Exclusivity cannot be guaranteed by any operator as the Cay is open to boats and the public. If by chance another operator or members of the public are already there, we would then take an extra scenic flight to Turtle Beach, which is a lovely beach south of Cairns.

  • Palm Cove:

    Council Fee applies to Palm Cove Beach landing and must be booked 30 days in advance to allow for council permission.

Coach Transfers:

Coach transfers from Cairns and Northern Beaches are inclusive in Cruise/Fly and Fly/Cruise options and Ultimate Experience tours. Coach transfers apply to cruise both way tours. Port Douglas transfers can be arranged for $70pp return and payable directly to the coach operator.

Conditions of Carriage:

Nautilus Aviation will not be liable for any loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience arising from or incidental to, any delay in service, howsoever caused. Nautilus Aviation works in conjunction with other tour operators and is not liable for other operator’s acts or omissions, whether negligent or otherwise. Travel and admissions will be subject to the conditions imposed by these operators which may limit or exclude liability for personal injury or property damage.
