Hours of Operation:

7 days per week


Office: 08:00am to 17:00pm

After Hours: Reservations is diverted to an after-hours service from  07:00am-08: 00 am and 17:00 pm-21: 00 pm


Fares are listed per person, in Australian currency (AUD) and are inclusive of GST, a fuel levy may also apply

Fuel Surcharge:

With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to the ticket price. In such cases any charge will be collected on departure. No fuel surcharge is presently applicable.

Booking Conditions:

Queensland: A minimum of 2 passengers per aircraft is required for Scenic Flights, Exclusive Getaways and Special Interest Tours (excluding ‘You Fly’). All tours are subject to availability and weather (including tide fro Sand Cay Getaway and Touchdown Upgrade).

Northern Territory: A minimum of 2 passengers per helicopter is required for ALL PROGRAMMED TOURS  (excluding ‘You Fly’). All tours are subject to availability and weather.

Booking Confirmations:

Reservations are held only when weights are received and full payment is made – unless credit facilities have previously been arranged.

  • Credit Cards:

    Payments made by credit card will incur a surcharge. The surcharge incurred is that set by the corresponding financial institution at the time of booking. Amex, Visa and Mastercard will incur a 1.5% surcharge.

Weight Restrictions:

Individual passenger weights and accompanying carryon luggage MUST be advised at time of booking. Weight variances greater than 10% may incur an additional fee. Maximum single seat payload of 130kg. For passenger comfort and aircraft weight and balance, passengers exceeding 130kg are required to purchase an additional seat at 50% of the ticket price – this is non-commissionable and payable to Nautilus Aviation on the day of travel.

Child Policy:

Children 3 years and above are legally required to be seated in their own seat and are therefore required to pay the full ticket price. Subject to conditions, children under 3 years may travel free of charge when seated on a parents/guardians lap. For bookings of more than one infant (under 3 years), conditions apply – please contact Reservations.

Minimum and Maximum passenger numbers:

Minimum passenger numbers may apply. Groups larger than 6 passengers may require a private charter. Please discuss this with the Reservations department at the time of booking.

FIT Bookings:

Credit Card details are required to confirm the booking

Pay on Board charges:

  • $20 Marine Levy includes EMC $6.50, Port Fees $1.50, Admin $2.00, Fuel Levy $10 – payable direct on the day of travel

Tour Cancellation:

Tours and aircraft substitutions are subject to Management and/or Pilots discretion, weather, air traffic control and availability.

Bad Weather:

Providing there is availability, date changes are welcome or in worst-case scenario, cancellations. Please note, if half the paid tour was possible e.g. the helicopter portion or cruise portion of the Fly/Cruise, Cruise/Fly or Cruise/Cruise without the package scenic flight, the relevant refund will be made.


48-hour cancellation notice required for a full refund claim; within 48 hours to 24 hours a 50% refund applies. If cancelled inside 24 hours no refund applies. Should a client advise a weight variance of more than 10% the right is reserved to cancel and no refund will apply. All refunds must be issued at the point of sale.

Landing Permits:

  • Sand Cay:

    All aviation operators are governed by Marine Park permits allocating minimum heights, distances and restrictions. Sand Cay landings may only occur if the cay is vacant, in the unlikely event that the cay is occupied, Sand Cay guests will receive additional flying time to a private beach location and no refund shall apply.

  • Palm Cove:

    Council Fee applies to Palm Cove Beach landings and must be booked 4-6 weeks in advance to allow for council permission.

Sand Cay Getaway:

Fitzroy Island ferry tickets given when Sand Cay landing is not possible are not inclusive of Island activities, restaurants and accommodation. Tickets are for ferry return transfers only.

Hotel Transfers INCLUDED:

  • Cairns:

    Packages ex Cairns (excluding Reef Packages): Courtesy return hotel transfers are included for Scenic Flights and Exclusive Getaways customers travelling from Cairns & Northern Beaches (up to & including Palm Cove).
    Packages ex Port Douglas (excluding Reef Packages): Courtesy return hotel transfers are included for Scenic Flights and Exclusive Getaways customers travelling from Port Douglas CBD area only.

  • Darwin:

    Are included in Mary River Wetlands Discovery Tour and HeliFish Tours. Please enquire.


Hotel Transfers ADDITIONAL:

Reef Packages ex Cairns: Transfers for all Reef Packages (Fly/Cruise, Cruise/Fly, Fly/Fly & Cruise/Cruise + 10 Minute Scenic) are additional with commission available. Refer to table below. Port Douglas Transfers: Private return transfers to/from Port Douglas are $205 per car (up to 4 passengers).

Conditions of Carriage:

Nautilus Aviation will not be liable for any loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience arising from, or incidental to, any delay in service. Nautilus Aviation works in conjunction with other tour operators and is not liable for other operator’s acts or omissions, whether negligent or otherwise. Travel and admissions will be subject to the conditions imposed by these operators, which may limit or exclude liability for personal injury or property damage.
